I enclose a copy of a letter from Dr Jordan of 17th instant, to Acting Colonial Secretary.
It conveys a different impression from what you received from him personally. I may remark that the position of Authorities is entirely changed from what it was when the Colonial Secretary applied to them for assistance on the 5th instant.
